This is the monthly writing diary for paid subscribers. I’ve spent most of my writing time over the last few months preparing for a reading of the good dad, a play that is a finalist in the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award. The three finalists are all having public readings next Sunday, the 28th of April. the good dad is the first cab off the rank at 12.30pm, and is directed by Emily Burton and stars Kevin Spink.
If you’ve never been to a reading before, it’s a chance for a script to be showcased before producers commit to a production. They can be fun, particularly if you’re a theatre nerd. It’s an open, free invite. So, anyone is welcome. You just have to RSVP here.
I might see you there. Please forgive me in advance for being awkward, shy, or a bundle of nerves.
Regular post on Monday. And some behind-the-scenes gossip for paid subscribers is below.
