Last year, I was a finalist for the Queensland Premier’s Drama Award for a play I wrote called The Good Dad. Developing and performing it was exceptional, and I wrote about that process a bunch through the Substack. The climax of it was almost a year to the day. I didn’t win the top shot; the play’s been in a drawer.
But I have been given an opportunity to re-visit the play, so I wanted to let you know how that’s been. I also wanted to give you some gossip about how many theatre companies have turned it down and why I still think it’s worth pursuing.
